Job Summary

Job Summary:

Working as a Marketing Manager you will work with the Chef and General Manager, developing our monthly promotional calendar.  This includes working with restaurants and PR companies to coordinate guest chefs, vendors to sample products, and learning and utilizing Restaurant Associates culinary and marketing programs we have in place.  You will be responsible for coordinating all corporate promotional signage and prepare daily signage for the Café including menus, pricing, and daily unit promotions. You will be required to be on the floor supporting marketing promotions that take place. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Increases participation and drives top line sales in café, catering & coffee bar operations
  • Leads process to develop a robust promotional calendar for cafe & coffee bar
  • Ensures promotional calendar package contains all appropriate information and is shared with clients in a timely manner
  • Uses approved design programs to produce marketing collateral
  • Leads a monthly Marketing Meeting to gain client feedback on new initiatives
  • Ensures effective tracking of new initiatives
  • Develops a “Visiting Chefs” program with local restaurants to be featured at Chef’s Table
  • Develops relationships with local vendors to feature products at café and coffee bar
  • Works directly with client group on green initiatives (GRA) & the marketing of these initiatives
  • Reviews and upgrades Wellness program with firm guidelines and expectations in mind
  • Supports the introduction of the sustainable dining program
  • Conducts monthly pre-meal focusing on importance of marketing & communication at the unit
  • Coordinates daily signage and development of marketing material
  • Coordinates the development of the Business/Marketing plan for the year
  • Reviews need for surveys & focus groups with client – Quarterly Review
  • Reviews need for RA Website as presented to client group
  • Manages comment card/feedback process for effective communication with participants
  • Executes an effective catering showcase
  • Engages with VP of Marketing & showcase units to bring best practices to the unit

Preferred Qualifications

  • ​​​​​​Bachelor’s Degree in business, communications, marketing or related field
  • Three to five years minimum direct food service experience
  • International or global culinary exposure needed
  • Food Publishing knowledge desired
  • Design and merchandise knowledge beneficial
  • Highly Effective and proven presentation, written and oral communication skills
  • Possess Quality Customer Services orientation and demonstrated ability to work with various people that influences and builds commitment
  • Business acumen with a sense an ability on how marketing strategies that grows the business
  • Is a self-starter; Maximizes own potential with a results orientation
  • Attention to detail, including spelling, proofreading, and editing
  • Demonstrated skill in handling multiple tasks and highly organized
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office including Excel and PowerPoint
