Job Summary

The Systems Support Administrator (Network) is responsible for the ongoing configuration and support of the organization's network infrastructure that powers the wired, wireless, and VoIP needs of the main campus and extension sites.  They are charged with configuring, and maintaining enterprise level networks to support data communications.

The Systems Support Administrator (Network) works as a member of the Infrastructure Services team and is charged to understand the goals/objectives of that team and how it supports those of the STGI&O division.


QUALIFICATIONS:

2-5 years of progressive experience with:

  • Enterprise wired networks
  • Enterprise wireless networking
  • LAN administration
  • Firewall configuration and management

Cisco wireless management preferred.

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Cisco or equivalent network certification (CCENT; CompTIA Network +) preferred.

Network Management/Support

  • Configure and manage campus LAN network infrastructure to achieve target uptime and reliability of 99.99%.
  • Configure and manage campus wireless network infrastructure to achieve target uptime and reliability of 99.99%.
  • Monitor, analyze, and shape LAN and Wireless network traffic.
  • Monitor security threats and deploy appropriate security measures in accordance with STGI&O change management process.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation in accordance with defined STGI&O standards within 3 business days of any approved changes.
  • Provide level 2 technical support for enterprise systems.
