The Director of Account Management position is responsible for all levels of communication, program penetration, satisfaction, and financial growth within assigned Foodbuy Committed Members. This position will ideally be based in either the southeast, Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Identify cost reduction opportunities for the customer, increase contract compliance and margins
  • Gain customer commitment to convert products within manufacturer categories and from competitive manufacturers to achieve savings
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key contacts and customers to enhance business opportunities
  • Responsible for the implementation and conversion of new committed customers to the Foodbuy program
  • Provides data and insights to assist customers in prioritizing needs
  • Articulate complex issues using leveraging executive level written and oral skills
  • Takes appropriate steps during and after meetings face-to-face or remotely to evaluate whether key messages were received and understood
  • Negotiates with customers to achieve buy-in and alignment with key initiatives
  • Maximizes the impact of resources within sourcing and category development on committed member activities
  • Increase financial performance for the customer and Foodbuy (lowering costs and, increasing Foodbuy income)
  • Ensure all customer purchase volume is captured, and linked to appropriate agreements
  • Ensure actionable customer reporting and business reviews
  • Develop new business opportunities in the segmented channels
  • Contribution of Foodbuy programs to include:
    • Volume allowance
    • Deviated pricing
    • Compliance KPIs
    • Program management administration costs/savings
  • Internal metrics for Member measured by Foodbuy
  • Monitors performance against targets/deadlines and identify trends impacting the business

Job Summary

 Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 year undergraduate degree, business preferred
  • Minimum of 7+ years managing Large Regional and/or National accounts in the Food Service and/or GPO Industry
  • Strong understanding of food service procurement by business segment/channel
  • Foodservice Distribution experience a plus
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft suite of applications is required
  • Intermediate knowledge of Contract Management technology preferred
  • Ability to travel extensively, 50%+ primarily to client locations
  • A strong understanding of the financial, commercial, technological and social aspects of Foodbuy’s business and value chain and how it relates to the competitive environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal, visual presentation, and written
  • Excellent customer/client relationship skills, both internally and externally
  • Ability to build effective long-term interpersonal relationships proactively across functions both within Foodbuy and external parties, working with others towards mutually acceptable solutions.
  • Strong influencing and leadership skills—must be able to persuade people’s attitudes, behaviors and decisions to desired results
  • Ability to manage financial resources and costs in order to ensure the achievement of strategic organizational objectives and to increase the profitability of Foodbuy.
  • Excellent negotiation skills--proven ability to engage others and handle interactions with individuals or groups to obtain commitment, compromise or settlement in a way that promotes win-win solutions and mutual goals or interests.
  • Experience in contract negotiations
  • Strong foodservice industry presence would be a plus
